The Best Day of our Buffalo Trip #1

The best day of our trip was the day we took to drive to Palmyra and see all the church history sites.  Somewhere I have always wanted to go.  It was amazing, spiritual and fun to do with Dave.

The Hill Cumorah

The view of the area from the hill.  The Smith family farm was about 3 miles to the right of the Hill.

The Palmyra Temple, a beautiful site.

The best traveler.  All our kids have been good travelers, and he was no exception.

Walking in the sacred grove was a very special experience.    I kept telling Dave, my heart wants to sing.

These rocks were from the original fence line from the Smith family farm.

New York #1

In early November we had the wonderful opportunity to visit Buffalo NY.  Dave had a class there and invited me to go along.  It was so fun.  The first day I had an architecture/interior design day and visited two Frank Lloyd Wright homes and the home of the Roycroft crafters who really began the arts and crafts style of furniture movement (1920's era).  They lived in a commune and worked together.
The Frank Lloyd Wright house, it looks more like a campus!

This is the view of the rest of the neighborhood with traditional victorian era homes.  His home stood out like a sore thumb in this neighborhood, it was revolutionary.

Baby boy al bundled up.  It was very cold!

A visit to the Buffalo History Museum in the most beautiful building!  I love history museums

A steainway piano built for the Buffalo world's fair

The history museum is housed in this building which was built for the buffalo worlds fair where President McKinley was shot.

Then we visited Niagara Falls on the Canadian side to see the falls lit up at night
